In the words of one of my former coaches “discipline is the highest form of intelligence”. Somehow after all the wisdom he shared with us that quote hit the hardest. In the a world full of distractions how do you stay focused? Everyday we are faced with maximum options that can hinder us from becoming who we want to be.
No disrespect to the foolish man, but even the foolish can say no the first time they they are met with temptation. But when temptation is consistent, can you consistently say no? I observed a wise man say no 99 times but on the 100th ask he gave in and said yes. Today that man is remembered for saying yes.
So my question to you is, how many times can you say no? How many times can you say no to greed? How many times can you say no to lust? How many times can you say no to pride? How many times can you say no to envy? Remember it’s easy to say no the first time but when the “devil” doesn’t flee how many times can you tell him no.
Remember no one is perfect so if you fall short keep going but don’t let your imperfections be an excuse. Allowed them to be the reason you have grace with yourself.
